Notes & Additional Information Note the "X" in the top left hand part of the view above the house roof tops at the pit's edge. Part of the card's message, from Miss Wilson's niece Mary, reads;

Dear Aunt - This is the only photo of our house as you will see where the X (is.) the trees are at the front gate (.) you will see we are very near the mine. But it is not a ¼ of the mine (.) there are about 15000 natives employed. Farther and Jack are both keeping well.

This second card was post marked Premier Mine and written on 14th April 1913 to a    Miss Ruby Courtice of Fulham, London. The card's message reads;

 Dear Ruby - The white mark under mark I have made on card is my room as you look at it the other house is on the left of mine, but it can not be seen owing to the trees around it. We are so close to the edge of mine that a stone fell on the roof today while the blasting was on. - love from George.
